Internal and external changes in temperature cause pressure differentials in enclosures, particularly when they are well protected. When a negative pressure occurs, dust and humid air can enter through door seals. As a consequence, condensation occurs inside the enclosure when the air is cooled as the water in the humid air cannot escape. The pressure compensation device allows humidity to escape the enclosure whilst preventing the ingress of dirt and water.
